Introducing MADE WISE Certified™: Expanding Opportunities with MADEWORKS

After a decade of refining our processes, we saw an important opportunity to expand our offerings and increase our impact. The MADE SAFE® seal remains the most rigorous certification program, uniquely prioritizing both human and ecosystem health. Every MADE SAFE product is a pioneer in setting the bar for what’s possible. At the same time, we recognized the need for a seal that still upholds human health as the top standard while creating a strong, credible baseline for any product making clean, green, or eco-friendly claims. That’s why we’re introducing MADE WISE Certified.

The MADE WISE seal exclusively works to eliminate 15,000 of the most harmful chemicals in use by screening products against the MADE Banned List. MADE WISE certified products must avoid the intentional use of every one of these banned substances including PFAS, plasticizing chemicals, high-risk pesticides, and more. MADE WISE allows for category expansion while actively working to reduce demand for the most harmful chemicals found in everyday products. By successfully passing the MADE Banned List screen, products can be certified MADE WISE. This program helps drive the voluntary elimination of harmful substances from the global supply chain.

Achieving MADE WISE Certification requires full ingredient transparency - a critical first step toward cleaner products and advancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. This process also helps companies identify and eliminate harmful substances. The MADE WISE Certification is launching with a focus on cosmetics, personal care, formulated pet products, and supplements.
