In Memory
We honor our advisors who have passed on, recognizing the important work they accomplished in protection of each one of us while we were gifted with their presence. We press ahead, inspired for the privilege of having known them, stronger for the privilege of having worked with them, and more determined to help empower healthier choices because of them. We now consider each one our angels. We wish they were still with us, and in recognizing them we hope to keep their memories alive and their good work carried forward.

Naturopathic Doctor & Environmental Medicine Expert
Walter J. Crinnion, ND
Dr. Crinnion, a staunch advocate of environmental medicine, received his Naturopathic Doctorate as a part of the first graduating class of Bastyr University in 1982. Dr. Crinnion was known as one of the foremost experts in the field of environmental medicine. He started the environmental medicine classes at Bastyr University, University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, and the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM). At SCNM, he was able to start the department of Environmental Medicine that he chaired from 2003 until 2013.
"Naturopathic medicine is based upon principles that include: treating the cause of disease, honoring the healing power of nature and the role of the doctor as teacher. Dr. Crinnion embraced all of these principles and soon began to explore why some patients were not getting better when safe and powerful natural healing techniques were used. He realized that the cause of some illnesses were due to environmental toxicant exposures.”

Founder, National Campaign Director &
Executive Director of Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families
Andy Igrejas
Through his work with Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families (SCHF), Andy led a coalition of more than 450 organizations and small businesses committed to strengthening public protections against harmful chemicals. He led an ambitious campaign resulting in the first major update to our country’s broken chemical safety law, the federal Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), in forty years.
"By the time Andy started the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families coalition however, his career was already filled with public health and environmental wins, from the shores of New Jersey to the halls of Sacramento. The list of his professional victories left a lasting impact on this world through changed laws, prevented rollbacks, and market shifts away from harmful products.”
