We reached out to Buhbli Organics co-founder, Michelle Gojkovich. She gave us the scoop on the company’s mission, history, and some beauty tips:
Made Safe: How are you different from the competition?
Michelle: We found our niche in recognizing there were few companies in the mass market offering a selection of simple, organic certified personal care products at a price most people can afford. So that’s what we do. We’re keen on contributing to breaking down socio-economic barriers to natural wellness in our own small way. We also encourage minimal product use with the understanding that less is more. Instead of taking the traditional route of offering huge numbers of different products and always trying to develop a new, exciting, “flavor of the month,” Buhbli Organics offers a streamlined, pared down line-up of highly versatile, organic, natural products that can be used in lots of different DIY ways, giving you way more bang for your buck. For example, having just a small selection of our organic essential oils empowers you to create your own personal deodorant spray or perfume; use them in a diffuser for aromatherapy benefits, a DIY body scrub, relaxing bath soak; or create a nontoxic, all-purpose cleaning spray for your home or office. The possibilities are nearly endless.
Made Safe: What’s the one thing you would never, ever do as a maker of better products?
Michelle: That’s easy. We would never, ever develop or sell anything that’s unaffordable to most consumers. There’s enough of that out there already. Natural wellness should be accessible to everyone. We offer simple, affordable, organic certified, natural wellness products that are good for everyone, and the planet too. It’s a win-win situation. That’s why we happily sell to large-scale retailers like Walmart, because they make our product accessible to large numbers of “everyday consumers.” Plus, we know they’ll keep the retail price to the consumer affordable because that’s what they do best.
Made Safe: Why is it important to have third-party validation for your products?
Michelle: Buhbli Organics’ mission is to offer pure, premium quality, organic, natural wellness products at affordable prices through major retailers, making them more accessible to more people. Made Safe: What’s the one product in your line you can’t live without and why?
Michelle: I absolutely love our Buhbli Organics Facial Oil. It works like a dream. I never go anywhere without it, and it travels easily thanks to its carry-on friendly 60ml bottle size. It’s the ultimate all-in-one that works as a make-up remover, facial cleansing oil, daily moisturizer—even as an all-over body moisturizer. So, when I go away for a few days, it’s literally the only body care product I take with me aside from my homemade deodorant (lavender, patchouli and ylang ylang essential oil + water in a glass spritzer bottle), toothbrush and toothpaste! I love knowing I’m never putting any harmful chemicals on my skin or adding to my body’s toxic load with our Facial Oil, especially important since I use it twice daily. Our bodies want us to be healthy and work hard every day to remove and sequester the many toxins they’re exposed to. Made Safe: What’s your favorite beauty or healthy living hack?
Michelle: I don’t use any soap on my face, ever. I simply rinse my face repeatedly while I’m in the shower each morning, then pat dry and immediately apply our Buhbli Organics Facial Oil. That’s it, and for me, it works beautifully. My skin is never aggravated or dried out, and I revel in having a super simple, clean and pure daily facial care regimen that adds zero toxic ingredients to my body or the planet—the one great body that we all share.
